Q: Who is Elias Giannakopoulos?
A: I come from a Greek immigrant family and was raised in Chicago. I study Finance and
Marketing at GVSU while being involved in real estate-related entrepreneurship ventures.
Q: What is RentrEasy?
A: A property management software company geared towards small-scale investors to make them
more profitable investors
Q: How did you come up with this business idea?
A: I invested in my first rental property back during covid and realized how hard and complicated
real estate investing truly is. Since then I have always brainstormed ideas on how I can transform
this space, and this is when RentrEasy hit me.
Q: Did you always know you wanted to start your own business?
A: I come from a family of hard-working restaurant and real-estate entrepreneurs, it has been
ingrained in me since a young age that the best lives are the ones where you get to control your
destiny and schedule.
Q: You’ve been involved in numerous pitch competitions…Michigan Tech Week,
Michigan Collegiate Startup Challenge, and CEO Pitch. Can you talk about your
experience during these pitch competitions and how they benefited you as an
entrepreneur and RentrEasy?
A: Every single pitch I do makes me more passionate about pursuing this venture and seeing how
people get excited over my business venture is such a rewarding experience that I am at the cusp
of transforming people’s lives for the better.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish in the future with RentrEasy?
A: My ultimate goal is to bring the 95% failure rate down for new small-scale real estate investors. I
want to make real estate less scary to stop deterring people from accomplishing passive income.
Q: What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned so far as an entrepreneur and
can you give some advice to other aspiring student entrepreneurs?
A: The scariest step is to just do it and don’t let others hold you back from the best learning
experience of your life. Everything you do as an entrepreneur will be very useful in anything you
venture into life.
