What are you involved in at GVSU?
“I’m involved in Campus Ministry at GVSU, Investment Portfolio Organization (IPO), various Design Thinking Initiatives, and the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO).”
What does being an entrepreneur mean to you?
“To me, being an entrepreneur means being a creative problem solver. An entrepreneur understands people, can identify problems the people are facing (sometimes the people don’t even realize certain problems they face), create an innovative solution, and take action on the solution. Entrepreneurs are willing to do things differently; they are the leader of the pack. I consider myself more of an intrapreneur; I create change and drive innovation within organizations.”
What entrepreneur do you admire most and why?
“Simon Sinek. He may be publicly considered more of a thought leader and idealist, but he is very entrepreneurially minded. I admire him because he focuses on understanding people, and he leads business based on people not profits. He’s also very good at inspiring others; that’s something I hope to do.”
If you had one piece of advice to other student entrepreneurs, what would it be?
“”If you don’t understand people, you don’t understand business.” Not my words, but the words of Simon Sinek.”
